Does anyone know whether my 400mz Graphite imac might be too old and slow to enable me to watch smooth (not choppy) YouTube videos? I have 3 mbps DSL so there is no problem with download speed. I have read that the G3 processors are too slow to handle the highly complex digital encryption of many videos found on the internet. Un-pirated videos I download from Limewire look fine. Only those from YouTube and news sites, for example, are a problem. Is there anything I can do to solve this problem short of buying a newer computer? EI have all upgraded Mac software (OSX 10.4.11, latest Quicktime, etc.) and everything else works perfectly.

Flash for OSX is dreadfully coded, and processor intensive even on the Intel Macs...

Is there another option other than using Flash? Is this problem unique to Macs (not older PCs too)? Any way to speed things up or get around the problems causing video to be clunky?
