I just wrote a really good letter to the editor for CSM, even though I am not religious, I felt someone needed to defend SJ and the new iPod. Their article was very pointed, and acted as if SJ were in the midst of "folly".

Now, I am an amateur copywriter, so hopefully they will see merit in my article and publish it. They have to contact me if they do and I would be doing jumping jack swirling roundhouse kicks, if my first article published is one to help defend my computer 'faith'.

Is this the article you are rebutting? What struck me as odd wasn't so much the "folly" stuff but the idea that these things are going to be loaded up with porn by children (sheesh; if they're old enough to be interested in that stuff, there's probably more prurient stuff in their imaginations than they'll see on those itty bitty screens!).

Yeah, its that one alright. And the concept that porn hops right into one is no different than saying a dvd player is evil because girls gone wild is only ten bucks each.

People will do what they can with anything they have. My angle was that the video ipod is coming later, this is the first ipod to support video and once more content is available the public will embrace it.

edit: I didnt even approach the type of content they did, rather the flow from abc to all networks and that the form factor was not in its final evolution. If they want to blame the internet for porn, they need to remember Playboy and Hustler are a lot older than that, and they didnt invent porn either.
