I've seen discussions on this and would like to hear from Apple. A few months ago all the 'attach' buttons on web sites stopped working - you click on them and nothing happens. Drag/drop usually continues to work, so I put up with it for a while but eventually went looking for a solution. I found that lots of people had experienced this problem - seems to be specific to Macbooks with the M1 chip - and that a solution had been posted, which involved adding Chrome to the security & privacy settings for files and folders. So I did this and it worked for a few weeks. Then the problem came back. I went back to the settings and found that Chrome is still there, so why is it not working? Furthormore it's greyed out and can't be removed and reinstated (yes, I did click on the padlock to unlock).

It's ridiculous that so many people are having this problem and Apple doesn't seem to be doing anything about it. I haven't seen any comments from Apple on any forums.
