Updating Chrome today automatically when the OS was updated, brought a load of very odd add-ons, Ebay something was one, and something else completely off the wall that it just let download without asking which you wouldn't expect just after an official update. Looked spammy.

I think I've deleted them, but they called them 'add-ons' and not 'extensions' and they're not in extensions list, but what's that all about.

And what is 'developer mode', Should that be on or off. On a google search, you can find loads about turning it on or off but not one article answering 'what is developer mode in Chrome browser'? Was that download possibly related to anything to do with developer mode being on? I've used it prior for years but never noticed if it's always been on or if this new update caused it and switched it on? Any idea, thanks
