Chrome: no context menu!

Ctrl + mouse in Firefox would normally bring up a context menu. In Chrome this is not working for me. So something as simple as saving an image to my hard disk is impossible.

Any suggestions welcome (apologies if this is a stupid question!).
 
Okay, so I installed the 'Allow right click' extension and Ctrl + mouse has brought back the menu. But surely it should be available by default..!
