Recently any email link I click on a browser page in Chrome no longer opens an email in Mac Mail... instead, it opens a page asking me to 'Add Gmail to your Google Account // By completing this form, you're upgrading to Gmail, email from Google...'

I don't want to do that, I just want the links to continue opening in Mac Mail as they were.

I checked in Mac Mail, under settings, and the default email client is set to Mac Mail. In Safari, it does default correctly to Mac Mail. But not in Chrome, which is my primary browser. Why won't it work correctly?

Thanks

Please state your OS as that might help.

Do you have any Chrome extensions that may be interfering?

Also, in a Chrome browser window, go to chrome://settings/content, click on "Manage Handlers" and see if there's anything in the list.
