Chrome scrolling lags on high resolution screen

Hi
I am using MacBook pro 2016 15inch with Radeon Pro 450 2048 MB.
When I use chrome on MacBook the scrolling on a website seems lagging a bit. Especially when I scroll the pdf file, it lags much more and even looks like flickering. Now when I see the website or pdf using chrome on the external monitor that has 1080p resolution, the scroll becomes much smoother. If I move the chrome window to MacBook pro screen, the scrolling lags again. Any idea to solve this problem? Thanks
