first of all a little background. i use many macs. i use them in three different places and i use different ones for different things. i can see the day coming when i will want a new machine to use upstairs in my house for internet browsing use only. no games, productivity, music or movies. i have other machines for those uses. oviously price is a concern for such a limited use. i'm currently using a mid 2009 macbook for this purpose. i would like something with a larger screen as my eyes ain't what they used to be. i frequent from time to time questionable sites and will continue to do so. i've been told by others that with chromebooks i needn't be concerned with any type of malware. is this really true?

once a year, regular as clockwork my birthday comes around and this birthday it's a 15.6 inch acer chromebook and will sit on my desk full time so the weight will not be a problem. won't totally replace my macbook as i will still need it to copy dvd's on. i hope to fire it up within a week. any tips?
