Chromecast on new Macbook Pro?

Probably slightly off topic, but I wanted to give Chromecast a try, and I am getting zero luck. Is it compatible with the newer 2015 Macbook Pros? Ive downloaded the APP in iTunes, but it seems to only be fore the ipad/iphone and it will NOT launch....Any ideas?

I believe it only works if you use the Google Chrome browser.

Ive tried, but no dice. The app doesnt even launch.

You have to add the Google Cast extension to the Chrome browser, then you can click the Cast icon in the upper right corner and choose to cast to your chromecast.
