Good Afternoon Folks,
First time I came across the MacRumors forum and wanted some assistance. I recently came across an IPAD 1 (A1219) from some relatives. We are a cable cutting family, utilizing Google's Chromecast. I noticed when i tried to install the Chromecast App it tells me it's not compatible with iOS 5.1.1, only with iOS 6.0 and higher.
So i went ahead and jailbroke the IPAD using RedSnow thinking i could upgrade to iOS 6.0. Yeah, that's not working for me. So i am looking for a recommendation.

How can i get Chromecast working on this IPAD 1 to Cast from Netflix and Youtube?

What you need to do is go onto iTunes on a pc/Mac and get it in there. Then sign in to the same account you used on the computer on your iPad and when you try to install it it will give you the option to download an earlier compatible version. I don't think you can w that app on an older fw. Maybe there is an app on cydia that doesn't require a higher fw.

I took a look, doesn't look like an older version of Chromecast is out, unless someone knows of a spot.

Any other thoughts? Someone has to have gotten the Chromecast App on an Ipad 1 before. Jailbroken or not.
