I'm interested in purchasing the new Chromecast. How well does the VLC on Mac + Chromecast setup work? Any issues with any specific file types? Does it work as smoothly and reliably as native AirPlay on the ATV?
Edit: I just saw a video on YouTube and it appears I don't even need to use VLC. I can play a file via the Chrome browser & Chromecast. Is that better than incorporating VLC?
