Chunk validation failed (iMac 21.5 Mac OS X Lion)

I'm hoping someone can help me. I formatted a used iMac and am trying to reinstall the OS but I keep getting "Chunk validation failed, retrying..." on the Installer Log. I've confirmed that the internet is connected but I have a slow internet speed. Not sure if this is the problem or not. Anyone have any ideas?

Apple Genius didn't know of a solution other than reformatting the hard drive. However, the hard drive failed to format. AG then determined that something in the hard drive may have failed when I originally formatted the hard drive. Luckily it was under warranty. Getting a new hard drive installed.
