My old Mac Pro sadly died on April 30th, definitely the GPU is dead and either the Logicboard or PSU (or both) followed.
I didn't have the time yet to diagnose much more beyond "it's toast", but I will resurrect it, once i have more time. Right now, I am building a new Linux Workstation on Threadripper (most stuff that I earn money with was running in Linux VMs or dual booting anyways, except for Keynote, pretty much).
So, just for my own curiousity, is anyone out there who could tell how a similar Mac Pro (Mac Pro (4,1 to 5,1) 12X 3.06 Ghz, 24GB RAM, 8TB HDD, 256 Samsung SM951 SSD, AMD Radeon HD7970 with Mac EFI) would have done in Cinebench R20, Unigine Valley, and the Blender BMW Benchmark?
I'd be interested to see how much more performance I'll have going forward, but since my old one is broken, I can't test right now…
Thank you so much!
