Hi there, I am in need of an explanation. I have read and investigate my question and also posted on other sites but still I am not sure what the story is.

My understanding is that Catalina is dropping some video types, with one being Cineform. I use a GoPro 6 and edit using FCPX on my MacBook Pro. I know from reading the GoPro website that certain video setting are HEVC, but can't work out whether the rest of the video settings are or use Cineform. I am not even exactly sure what Cineform is, even after reading the bio on it. A format used to compress high quality footage into a more usage file size but can it be Cineform and also MP4. Not sure whether to upgrade (or eventually upgrade as the reports are to very positive at the moment on Catalina). I certainly won't be updating if I am unable to use the GoPro video.

Help on this would be greatly appreciated!!
