Down the rabbit hole
I'm thinking the refresh of the Cinema display could include the addition of a Thunderbolt port to allow daisy-chaining. Apple would otherwise have to add another port to the MBP to allow one to connect the external plus a display (not as clean) or offer some kind of adapter. Thoughts?

im thinking they will also. hoping for an audio and ethernet port also.
and in my dreams they would add an FW800. but wouldn't count on that to happen :)

1 cable to connect your speakers, cabled internet and an USB hub + a screen. is win.

only 2 cables to connect to your portable :) (TB and MagSafe)

and most peripherals will have 2 TB ports for daisychaining. so you can go laptop > HDD > cinema display

Since the display has nothing going on the inside they could do 3 tb ports.

It would be pretty advantageous to go tb route you can get video, audio, and data through a single port.

I want them to go back to the none glossy screen, or at least give the opinion. A none glossy cinema display would be so good.

Id buy glossy either way but it would be a nice addition for everyone asking for it :)

They wont add hdmi. Get a minidp to hdmi converter

even with a minidp to hdmi converter, you cant connect a ps3 to the ACD.

You can hope, but i dont think they will. Because AFAIK hdmi does not support 2560x1440.

I hope they add hdmi too

Nearly every other higher end display I've seen supports HDMI and copy protection so you can connect a bluray player to watch movies. I just googled the hd620 and while it may work, it showed the price as nearly $200 which is a lot to ask considering the cinema displays are expensive to begin with.

Maybe not a use professionals would have for the display but as someone hoping to buy one to use in a college apartment I could use it as both a monitor and as a TV replacement in one

The existing Cinema Display will be able to be placed a the end of Thunderbolt chain anyway!

Yes for sure new monitors with support daisy-chain-video-passthrough. The image on the R-6 box shows it.

Think setup on the R6 Box would suit me fine and will work with current Cinema Display
However I think others might want the Cinema Display in the middle as such.
For that a re-designed Cinema Display with Thunderbolt Port/s would have to be released.
