Never heard of these before, but it's almost as if it's using some Apple factory parts or close to, and the quality looks impressive, anyone know anything about these? ?

Seems to get impressive reviews: http://www.amazon.com/CinemaView-CV24A-LCD-display-DisplayPort/dp/B0040BX5NY

Manufacturer's website and review links there: http://www.cinemaview.com/product/cinemaview-24-display#

These seem like a quality alternative, anyone have any experience with these?

They capture the look if that is all you are going for. But those panels are not IPS. If you wan't a 24" IPS with the Apple look, then get the 24" Cinema Display. I would only get this if you have a PC and want a display to look the ACD or if you aren't concerned with color quality.

The display is incredibly well built evidently tho, right up there with Apple's build quality, and have you read the reviews? They point the color reproduction is still excellent and unless your really, really focused on getting IPS color quality or have a keen focus on movie and photo editing, this display looks like an excellent alternative for Apple build quality and clean look.

But yeah, no IPS panel, but for the potentially Apple-like build quality (as noted some of the reviews linked on the manufacturers site) and clean asthetics, this looks like a nice display, plus, Im not a laptop person so the lack of MagSafe connector dangling on the break-out cable would be if anything a plusf or me.

Anyone ever use one of these in person or know more indepth info?

I never said the display was bad, I have used them before. Yes they look like an Apple product. The color reproduction is ok, but it isn't IPS so no advantages over any other 24" monitor besides it being made from Aluminum. A 24" Dell Ultrasharp costs the same and it has more ports, IPS panel, better ergonomics. A real 24" Cinema Display (which I would recommend for someone without a 2011 Mac as the display will be pretty much useless) can be had for as low as $400 on ebay. I really don't know what you want?

So if you want something that looks like Apple made it then by all means buy it, it is a good monitor. It surely isn't a great deal though, considering other 24" monitors on the market. But if you want that Apple look, you might as well just buy Apple.
