CHICAGO!
I have a 12-inch iBook G4 a little over a year old and a friend just bought a 14-incher about a month ago. We both have small recessed circles that are located to the right of the iBook display, about an inch to the lower right of where the clock appears. Does anyone know what this is? Thanks much!

You mean the microphone?

edit: Bah, he beat me to it...
my lack of punctuation and my abbreviations make me quick like a hibernating bear on a hot summers day, with salmon abound.

I finally learn what that's for. I just thought it was a shortcut for geniuses to pop out the display if it broke.

where is it on the powerbook? In the right speaker grill. right?

i hope you didnt stick a paper clip in there to try it out did you? that would be pretty bad for a mic.

no. never really used the mic anyways. by the time i knew enough people with ichat to audio chat with i was already on my next computer. I was always curious about it. The fact that there wasn't another one on the other side made me suspicious that that was not the purpose.
