TyPod macrumors 68000 Nov 2, 2006 1,745 18 Minneapolis, MN Mar 24, 2013 #3 That little circle means the iPhone is connected to the 1xRTT network. When your iPhone displays the 3G icon, its on the EV-DO network, which is more than 10x faster. So pretty much what viper said, very slow data.
