Can't see this specific question anywhere. We have two new iMacs (one 18 months old) both using Maverick with no problems. Our wi fi router is a Cisco and it is plugged into our old Mac Mini and of course, to the cable box and the power cord.

My question is can I just disconnect the Mac Mini and still have our wi fi intact for the other two new computers? That is, is the cable box and Cisco wi fi independent of the old mac?

Yes... definitely. You can toss the old Mini and the others will keep on working.

Thanks, Weaselboy. I suspected that might be the case but was not sure.
