I'm looking for a secure windshield or vent mount for my '89 Civic. I've got an Arkon window mount I use in my Nissans but the Civic windshield is sloped so much it puts the phone just slightly too far away from my face to see clearly.

Anyway, just wondering if there's by chance any EF (89-91 Civic) owners here with a good suggestion.

Here's a picture for reference (swiped from my gassavers page - I also have a CRX dash swap):

I was thinking maybe a vent-clip one to go on one of the center vents. But the CRX vents are pretty thin so I'm not sure if there'd be fitment issues there and/or problems with it mounting securely enough.

Oh, yeah I forgot to add that I knew about the proclip. The problem with proclip is that you end up having to spend $60-80 for both parts. I'd prefer to not spend that much :p

I miss my '85 Civic... Honda was once the king of dash layouts, but the newer ones are a mess of random buttons. I realize that doesn't really help you ;) but I have a ProClip in both my vehicles (a VW and Dodge) and really like the custom fit and pass thru connector. However they are pricey for what amounts to nothing but some plastic bits that are glued together
