Sadly it's just a bad phone game that beens updated. When I first heard an iPad version was available, I thought with the 3D racing games available, that it could of been the real Civ Rev.
oh well

Although maybe someone else here will be interested www.civilizationrevolution.com/ipad/

Civilization Revolutions HD, aka crashilizations revolution

Civ. Revolutions is now on the iPad as a full blown iPad native app - sort of. After I first bought the app, it crashed *every* single time I opened it.

I was about to send a nasty email to 2K games and Apple, when I thought "hey, let's put this in airplane mode to see if that changes anything." Well,, I was finally able to actually start a game. It looks great, and seems like it'll be a nice demonstration of what iPad strategy gaming could be, EXCEPT....

... it still crashes at least once every five minutes. No real patterns to it, just blammo, I'm back to my iPad's "home" screen. Ok, there are some patterns. It crashes every time I try to save a game. seriously. The good news is that the game does periodically save on its own at seemingly random times. When you restart, hit "continue" on the opening screen and you'll return to your old game, usually a couple of turns before the crash.

The summary is, I'm *VERY DISAPPOINTED* in both Apple and 2K Games.

2K Games: You've completely lost my loyalty by releasing a *$13* that DOESN'T WORK! And don't blame this on Apple... I have almost 60 apps on my iPad, and this is almost the only one that crashes, and absolutely the only one that crashes routinely.

Apple: As a user I've supported the App Store because it's provided some reassurance of quality control. However, that is apparently an ILLUSION! Did you even try to run this app? Apparently not! This is particularly revolting for one of the more expensive apps in your ecosystem!

Now for the constructive part: I know lots of people are having this problem. Everyone who was sucker enough to buy this app, reply to this thread with details of your iPad configuration. Maybe there are patterns here that 2K Games can use to fix the problem.

ME: iPad 3g, 32 GB, with 6.9 GB available.

I bought CivRev the day the iPad was released. I still haven't had a crash, and I've played multiple hours-long stints of this game. I've read many reports like yours, I wish I knew what I was doing differently so I could help you out.

iPad WiFi 32GB.

I have never had problems with it on my iPad 3rd gen, but if you are trying to run it on the ipad 1, prepare for problems.

Obviously this isn't going to be full blown civilization, even on my top-build gaming desktop, it struggles to run late in the game. Once apple manages to add that kind of power to a tablet, then maybe we can expect desktop quality games, but until then, you payed for a $10 game and that's what you got, not the $60 desktop version.
