Is it unreasonable to ask $385 for a 16GB wifi iPad 4? I keep getting offers of $300 and lower which felt like low-ballers to me. However, I'm beginning to wonder if I'm asking/expecting to much.

You can get a refurb (read: mint condition and brand new warranty) for $379. I'd probably shoot to get ~325-350 for a used one.

Go for $330.

I'd take $300 that's if you want to buy a new iPad. That's a pretty fair offer seeing the warranty has probably or ready to expire.

Would YOU buy a used iPad 4 for your asking price, knowing you can get a refurbished one with one year warranty and no questions asked returns if within 14 days for about $30 more??

That is why I asked the question on the forum - to get a better sense of what to ask. I don't think you meant to treat me like an idiot.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

if you can use amazon gift cards or any of the others that GameStop sells take it to them and trade it in. If its in great shape it shows you would get $315 for it but if you buy any used game on the same invoice you get an additional 30% on top of the above price so you would get $409.50 for it. Just find the cheapest game you can to buy. I found one for $1.99 when I did it but I saw a person in another thread that we are discussing it in found a $.99 game. Instead of letting them give you store credit you can take the total out buying gift cards. My family shops amazon regularly so I took the $540 credit I got form my iPad 4 64gb WiFi out in amazon gift cards which is just like cash for us. Its the only way I have seen to do good on our 4s as I got down about it myself watching what they were selling for.

Do you have any idea what they'd give for a 16gb wifi mini?

If its in great shape its shows $190 online. Add in the additional 30% of $57 and you should be looking at $247. This all depends on condition. That price is "like new" which I had no problem meeting with mine but I had kept it in a case with a screen protector since new. Here is the link to check trade in on all kinds of devices.

what about for a 64GB LTE model? I'm not really looking to sell but my friend offered me $300 for it and i honestly felt that offer was quite insulting...

I just sold my iPad 4 32gb/LTE for $450. Got lots of lower offers. Just waited. Don't know if that's good or bad, but based on Best Buy, eBay, and other trade ins, I felt it was good. It was on CL.

The retina mini killed your asking price. I personally would rather have a new faster, portable device with 1 year warranty and the ability of exchanging/taking it back. Plus no greasy fingerprints.

I sold my IPad 4 on CL for $350 a week before release of the Air.
Mine was Like New!

I upgraded from the 4. Didn't plan on to till the day of release. Decided because was able to sell my 16gb wifi ipad 4 for $375 on the day ipad air came out. I thought it was a great deal to get that much on the day of release. And it was sold on CL

I was only able to get $360 out of my 32gb Wifi iPad 4 on CL. The problem right now is over saturation. There were around 100-150 other iPad 3/4s up for sale in my area. All of them posted last weekend after the Air launched. It's pretty much either sell low now or wait a month till things clear out.

I got a killer deal on mine when I bought it so I didn't take too much of a loss. If I would have a payed full retail, I probably would have held on to it.
