Hi everyone

I have an old clamshell iBook that has served me well the past 4 years or so. Now I just replaced it with a brand new Powerbook (happy me :) ) Since the iBook still worked quite well for some purposes (like mailing, surfing, office and such) I was thinking of giving it away to a friend of mine. Therefore I cleaned it up - like reinstalling OS 9.2 and the old Classic Office package. Personally I used it lately to explore OS X and have run it till Jaguar (including doing the firmware update).

Everything seemed nice after the reinstall, but now I found the battery is not charging anymore. Yes, the battery would be old and weary, but it did actually still work and charge when I used it before with OS X. Now the computer works fine with AC powered and the amber charging light is on, but the battery does not take charge at all. I have tried installing latest battery update from Apple page, also tried to reset the PMU - nothing works. From other boards I realise that other people also have trouble with this and have even tried exchanging the battery without success.

Anyone experienced the same, or know some more tricks to try out?
