Clamshell A/V Output Cable = iPod A/V Cable?

Just wondering if anyone knows is the original iBook G3 Clamshell A/V cable is interchangable with the iPod A/V cables?

As in, can I use an iPod AV cable for my clamshell to output to my television?

Doesn't work...

I have a classic ipod and use the a/v cable regularly to connect to my tv, I came across a graphite se clamshell and tried it out and no luck, I could partially see the desktop but it was scrambled.

If I pulled the a/v connector slightly out of the port, it worked... I googled and eventually came up with a site that said the cable for the clamshells was different... something about the ground being in a different spot??

If you can come across a cheap-o camcorder cable of that variety, it might work.
