Hi all,

Looking for some advice for a home office setup using my existing monitors, CalDigit doc, MacBook Pro M4 Pro, and existing keyboard/mouse.

I want to use my laptop in clamshell mode, and just use the one CalDigit cable to plug in. Anything I should know about, or any special considerations I should take into account? How is cooling in clamshell mode? Current setup with mac as 3rd screen doesn't run too hot as is.

Additionally, any advice on camera, microphone, and speaker peripherals that will work well with the setup? I'm not opposed to replacing one of my monitors if an integrated option is best (currently have 27in ASUS 1440p 144hz monitor I'd like to keep, and a trash scratched 1080p 60hz 22in Dell monitor I got at a surplus store after an office replaced their stock). I prefer higher quality products, but am not opposed to deal hunting or waiting things out to keep costs low. Almost everything I have (aside from the Mac) was purchased on discount/deals, and I see this as a slow build prioritizing quality over speed.

To summarize:
1) Any advice for running mac in Clamshell mode?
2) Any advice on camera/mic/speaker peripherals (that take up limited desk space), or a monitor that is at least 1440p/120hz that has those integrated?

Thanks in advance!
