Is there a way to close the lid of my MBP while running the display off an external monitor and have the computer run?

Otherwise known as clamshell mode.

I don't know how to do this in XP (Home) though on BootCamp..

Tanks

Nevermind I figured it out..

Turns out there was an option in the Power Options to not put the laptop to sleep when I close the display.

Anyone else wanting to fix this go to:

Control Panel/Performace and Maintenance/Power Options/Advanced

Go to the Power Buttons portion and for the heading "When I close the lid of my portable computer", select from the drop-down menu "Do nothing".

Done.
