Clamshell mode question

Im slowly weening away from my Dell and using my new MBP as a replacement desktop. Im giving the Dell to my fiance. My question is , Is it ok to leave the computer running in clamshell mode overnight? I always left my Dell on overnight and shut it down when i went to work during the day or is it better to put it in sleep mode?

Yes, it's fine to leave it in clamshell mode for any period of time.
