Curious if clamshell mode for the iPad mounted on a Magic Keyboard has been added in iPadOS 26? Has anyone tested, and if not, can you please? Would love if that was something not mentioned yet, but still added silently.

I didn't try with the magic keyboard, but with a regular keyboard/mouse setup via usb. Clamshell mode does not work in this case.

Thanks for reporting. Not optimistic it will work, but let's wait and see until someone does try with the Magic Keyboard as well.

Does not work for me with my Pro Display XDR, Magic Keyboard, and Magic Mouse, regardless of various settings I have tweaked…

Nope, still not available. Though, apparently Apple is testing control center on an external display. Or it's just some weird glitch or something. Maybe this is the beginning of the iPad clamshell mode?

Do you mean
You couldn’t connect to any keyboard/mouse ??

I use mine connected to my work display and external key board all the time.
My iPad is closed, so its kind of Clam shell mode

We don’t have control centre, but it works very well

I use an USB hub with cabled mouse/keyboard.

I’m also using a USB C Hub, company provided, i think its a Dell, its working fine, wired keyboard and wireless 3rd party mouse.
No real complaints so far, its actually better then touch mode

It’s not really clam shell mode, as iPad is closed but still on.

Display brightness settings
The Lock / Unlock setting is OFF

It's actually quite annoying not to have it. I have a monitor with USB-C power delivery. I plug my iPad into the switched off monitor. I then switch on the monitor and the iPad begins charging and the lock screen lights up. The monitor takes a few seconds to load, but by this point the iPad's screen has gone dark again and the signal to the monitor has been cut. I end up getting these weird loops with multiple charging "bongs". If I need to lock the iPad when I step away I need to turn the monitor off first, because just locking the iPad will send it into another charging loop.

I don’t have that issue
I connect to the Dell Dock via USB-C
Then unlock iPad and the external monitor awakes and shows external display( I don’t mirror, i use extend setting)

I normally close my iPad and can work merrily away without any issue.

I work in a very sensitive environment. So I log out very quickly. And all my applications that store information only start with Face ID.

As far as I understand, the wish for a clamshell mode, this wouldn't work for me well.
