i have never use before that anti virus soft. CalmXav

i just run it yest on my mac
and after scanning my application folder
it said:
Know viruses 27939
No files infected

so,i dont really get that :know viruses" is it in my computer that or in the software:confused: database please?

sorry for the stupid question

Yes, you're correct -- it's the database.

Known viruses = how many viruses are in the database and can be detected.

Infected files = how many files actually have a virus in them.

So the scan did not find any viruses on your computer. :)

Known viruses means just that - that's the number of virus signatures in its database. Basically it means that it's scanned for all the viruses it knows about and hasn't found any - unsurprising as you're not running Windows.
;)

This is as expected - as yet, viruses don't really exist on OS X. There's a couple of fairly lame trojans, but they're rare and not really something you're likely ever to come across unless you download a lot of iffy software from disreputable locations...
