Ok I know there seems to be a more universal Band using GSM and Verizon is using CDMA along with Sprint. The Question I have is for someone who can really explain it, why is everyone else using GSM with spotty service when Verizon has CDMA with much better service?

I keep hearing Verizon's new 4G will be replacing CDMA, and now a lot of their phones are DUAL Band GSM and CDMA, but what is wrong with GSM even though it seems to be a universal medium inside and outside of the US of A.

I am in NJ and ATT isn't so bad, but Verizon is getting worse I guess because there are more people on VZ and as they sign up new ppl they are not improving their service that much.

Well any clarification on this would help, because I see GSM as the way to go because my phone works in and out of the USA.
