I'm a little confused as to the difference between these 2 things.
I've got a .mac subscription and I've tried out the app "Backup" and I also noticed that in System Preferences, there is a .mac pane where i can also do Syncing.

I've used Backup to backup my bookmarks, contacts, addressbook, mail, etc. The data gets stored in teh "backup" folder on my iDisk.

.mac Preference pane allows me to backup the same things. but it doesn't create data files that i can see.

so what exactly is the difference? and is there one thing that's better than the other? hopefully someone can give me a thorough explanation .. hehe
