clarify this for me plz. -iphone data plan

my frd told me that, if I put my gf and bro's and my phone lines all under my name, and billing with the same credit card,, i can get a 3g iphone plan (30 dollars) and share it between all 3 accounts..
is that true ?

if so, then how about if we all buy a 3g iphone, and all share 1 data plan?

I am from Canada,, so 3g iphone will be from Rogers/Fido.
