just looked at geekbench and saw this
http://browse.geekbench.ca/geekbench2/view/242194

it says macbook pro 11,1 quadcore, with Q720 processor.

im not really into what all this stuff means, but did i just stumble accross something big?

thanks to the guy below, for pointing out its clarksfield, title changed to reflect this ;)

You pretty much did. That's still i7 (Clarksfield) but it's not currently used in MBPs. Could be just a prototype from Apple to test Clarksfield in MBPs, but who knows?

cool. its got a bit of a sh*tty score though, less than the 2.4 i5

It seems that it is a never ending waiting game with technology and i am a hypocrite because i am part of that waiting game. :D

That's true

After Sandy Bridge, it's only couple of months for mobile ATI 6xxx series and OS X 10.7 and only a year till Ivy Bridge and less than two years for Haswell and DDR4 is coming in 2012, SSDs are getting bigger, new GPUs from nVidia... :D

thought people would be a little more interested in this, especially with the 11,1 code. maybe the change to double figures is meaning a big update next time round, possibly 'to the next level'

It's a hackintosh. Look at the BIOS (really the EFI) date. MBP51.88Z.00C1.B03.0802271651. February 27, 2008. They just took the smbios.plist file of a 5th gen MBP and modified it.

And it still scores lower than the i5 540 @ 2.53GHz. So much for quad-core.

8 cores!!!!!:O Man,you may have came across something, that Apple didn't expect to be found. Why did they publish it though? You don't have too with geekbench.Maybe it's a top secret leak. :D
