I’ve always wanted a Apple leather strap on the Watch but they are too expensive for my taste. Worse is that I can’t see the leather straps in person in-store (the display are always the sports loop of the braided ones). So, there’s always a risk of buying something online and not getting what one expected.

Recently I scored a Classic Buckle (Sapphire) for cheap ($40, and yep, bought online blind) and put it on the midnight aluminium AW. Not thrilled about the stainless steel connector on a “black” Watch body but otherwise, it’s quite a nice strap.

I hope it patinas and turned a darker shade.

looks nice
the body mis-match is why after my first watch which was black, the rest have been whatever version of silver-ish they've sold that year,

Sapphire is an interesting colour. It looks different under different lighting condition. I believe that’s the charm of Apple leather. Outdoor, it has a darker shade, which I like. Somehow, indoor, under fluorescent lighting, it’s bright.
