Hey guys,
I have a Classic MBP 15" 2.33 Ghz and its CD drive seems to be acting oddly. I have been watching DVDs in it and occasionally if I rewind or skip scenes, or pause and unpause in quick succession, it won't respond and I have to force quit DVD Player. Also, when I'm browsing on a CD, it takes up to 5 seconds to open each folder (for the first time).
By contrast my Macbook drive seems to have no problems quickly responding to DVD player commands or seeking (not even reading or writing) on a disc.
Is this a known issue or is something up? I bought the machine from ebay but it is in practically new condition, the previous owner has treated it incredibly well (I've also spoken to him extensively at length since the auction, unless he's an incredible actor I doubt he would sell a dud knowingly).
Cheers
Joe
