Hi, i'm unable to find much information on any updates for non-retina macbook pro. Do you think it's likely to be phase out after upcoming october event?

Lol, with all due respect, this doesn't even remotely answer his question or address his concern.

To the OP, no one knows yet, it's been "rumored" that the line may cease to exist; but we won't literally know until the updates arrive.
 
I hope that Apple will keep it for at least a little longer. I'm very interested to purchase a classic MacBook mainly because of the possibility to swap the hdd and also upgrade of rams.

Wait as long as you can. If they're officially discontinued you'll still be able to find one. Cheap I'd guess.
