When I go to start classic in os x (10.4.11), it works fine but when I try to boot into it, it never works... Any idea why? It always worked before but now it just gives me the disc with question mark. I just use classic to play simcity 2000 and quake III.

Could be a lot of things... is the Mac OS 9 system folder blessed? Can you select it as startup disk if you booted from the Mac OS 9 CD, and chose Startup Disk from the Apple menu?

BTW.. for Quake 3 at least there is a 1.32 Mac OS X updater

When I try booting up into os 9, I do go through startup disk in system preferences. I have the os 9 disc that I installed classic from but I can't seem to boot from it. I tried the "hold c key while starting up" method multiple times. I also tried selecting the os 9 disc in the startup disk panel but after a restart, it just spits it out.

EDIT: I'll look into that updater.
