Been a developer for 10+ years, never used to clean install OS X overhauls, but have been since 10.7 went delta beta development annually (shakes out a lot).
I clean installed the first GM believing that it would be "the" GM. No third party anything. After the delta beta GMC updates, my '13 nMac Pro 8-Core w/ dual FirePro D700's felt... off.
Last night, burned a DL DVD, reinstalled, dragged and dropped app's and data from my latest TM backup (most ~/Library/ and some /Library/ files and app's), reinstalled a few app's from scratch. 150 GB's later, purring like a kitten! Third party plugin's and all.
Ran a few tests, speeds much higher than before, no Finder latency, boots in ~4 seconds to home. The most interesting aspect, running everything the same, iStat Menus 5 shows my used RAM (inactive checked) as 35-45% depending, before it was never below 55%-65% range.
