I was wonder if it is possible to perform a clean "erase and install" lion on the 2011 macbook air that already come with lion. if so how? thx:D

i found a way, not sure if its the best way. what i did was hold down option after restart. then I select recovery disc and erase my hd in disk utility. then install mac os x lion :D

I'm trying to do the same but the only option I'm getting is to choose a network, and my network is not coming up...tried to input the network manually and still won't work.

Any ideas?

Is you router configured to "show SSID"? Also, make sure your router is suing WPA encryption and not WEP, as WEP will not work with recovery.
