I want to start over with my MBA 11" (late 2010). I want to leave off the things I don't use--iDVD, iWeb, garage band, and anything else I can do without to free up as much space as possible.

I have the flash drive that came with it but I'm not sure how to go about this.

Also, it came with Snow Leopard and I have Lion now. I assume once I reinstall, I can download Lion again w/o paying again?

Any advice would be great. Thanks!

You want to install lion or SL?

You can option boot to the lion installer. No need for flash drive. Erase and install from there.that's what the recovery partition is for.

If the op intalled lion then the computer will have the recovery partition

Installing Lion from the recovery Partition is a pain because it needs to download the entire OS. He stated that he has the USB stick.

Here is what u do -

1) backup
2) insert the USB stick that has Lion instalation
3) reboot and hold option. Then choose the USB stick to boot from.
4) For a clean install -> go into the disk utility and erase the drive.
5) finish the installation.
