I am thinking of doing a clean install on my iphone 5 when ios7 comes out and I want to be ready. Just have one doubt, setting my phone as new phone will lose all my app data. How can I clean install without losing my pics, app data (which is very important for me)?

You can't do a clean install without losing everything. Even if you restored and put your backup on afterwards, you'd just be putting on everything you took off, defeating the purpose of the clean install.
