I just completed a clean install of OS X El Capitan with a USB stick made prior to February 14, 2016 but did not get the warning that the certificate was expired as stated in a MacRumors post back in February of 2016: https://www.macrumors.com/2016/03/03/older-os-x-installers-broken-by-certificate/

"As pointed out by TidBITS (via Ars Technica) a side effect of the replacement of the certificate causes older OS X installers to fail to launch. OS X installation files downloaded from the Mac App Store before February 14, 2016 and stored on a computer or USB drive are no longer functional. This includes installation files for OS X El Capitan and older versions of OS X like Mavericks and Mountain Lion."

Should I be concerned? I made the USB stick myself (downloaded from Mac App Store) in January of 2016 (I believe January 15). I did reset the MacBook's SMC and PRAM prior to doing the install but the date was set correctly during the install (I confirmed in Terminal). Why didn't I receive the warning? Should I be concerned that the install is compromised? Has anyone else recently installed El Capitan with a USB stick made prior to February 14, 2016 and received no warning?

The Mac model is a 2008 MacBook (aluminum).
