I am not very experienced in this so forgive me. I have a 13 in MBP mid 2010. I am selling it because I purchased a MBA. I reinstalled(reformat) the OS from Disk 1. Now do I have to use the applications disk to install all the applications or are they already there from the reinstall? I don't want to go through the start up of the computer because the new person should, I guess.

I think iLife is in the second install disc. You can simply say to the buyer that you didn't install it because you want that the new owner can set it up.

iLife applications are on the second install disk.
And you needn't worry about tripping the first start up welcome screen. You can invoke this after the fact by using this command after you've finished configuration:
