Hi! So I need to clean junk files from my Mac. Caches, unused system or deleted program files(from deleted programs) and basically everything unused, temporary files so on... All unused files. Everything that is not needed. Should I use Mac cleaning third party software and which one? What is the best way to do this? Also I don't want to spend a lot of time on that so if it can be a faster way that would be appreciated.

which mac? if it's an intel mac, boot into safe mode (this will clear cached files, for instance), then reboot normally.

and look for things you're sure you don't need (backup first as a precaution!), ie the app support and audio files for garageband...

It really shouldn't be necessary to do lots of cleaning up - macOS soes a good job. But try free Onyx, which include some maintenance clean-up tasks.

My buddy swears by this. I use Maintain Cocktail though - which our Mac consultant of ~20 years uses for all of his clients (most in the North NJ to NYC area).
