Cleaned Water Damgaed Iphone 4

So i cleaned up a motherboard on a water damaged iphone 4 and I seemed to have lost the OS. When i plug it up to itunes it says that the firmware is outdated or no existent or something. Anybody know how to get around this?

the memory chip is prob gone, like the HD of the phone
