Hey Gang, question here.

I know this is #firstworldproblems, but hear me out.

My screen gets dirty rather quickly, as my daughter watches the occasional show on my laptop and she touches the screen sometimes. I tend to make appointments at the Apple Store once or twice a month to have them clean the screen because I'm just super fearful of doing it myself. I want to be able to do it without having to go to the mall.

I have a microfiber cloth that came with my glasses. Do I just moisten it with a little water and wipe it down? I've read to not use any Windex or anything like that. I read somewhere else online to use dish soap, but I don't want to do that, it just seems wrong.

Help me out here.

I generally use a tiny amount of soap and lots of water to get rid of fat from fingers. Then wipe several times with just water. I have a microfiber cloth but generally use soft tissue paper. The screen looks like new after a couple of years. I clean it about once a month.

I have a 15" 2018 MBP and I use a 50/50 mix of alcohol & water with a microfiber cloth. I do the same thing for my TVs, monitors, phones, etc....all look new. No scratches and no removal of oleophobic coatings or anti-glare coatings.
