My Macbook Pro has become a little sticky from my fingers. Is Belkin LCD Display Cleaner and a micro fibre cloth ok to use on the trackpad/keys? It says it is alcohol free.

The LCD cleaner should be okay to clean the screen with. To clean the keyboard, I would just use a small amount of water.

For future reference, Apple recommends a product called iKlear to clean Macs and iOS devices. It's something to keep in mind.

When I recently visited Apple store as mcbpro was booting to white screen....it was advised as the logic board being 'liquid' damaged

no known reason as I drink tea at home

I have in the past used 'polish' to clean my mob

now I have it replaced I'll be using 'dry' cloth/paper kitchen towel only:eek:

Apple also gives instructions on how to clean your Mac in the User Guides for the MBA, MBP and iMac:
Cleaning your Mac When cleaning the outside of your Mac and its components, first shut down your Mac, and then unplug the power adapter. Then use a damp, soft, lint-free cloth to clean the Mac exterior. Avoid getting moisture in any openings. Do not spray liquid directly on the computer. Do not use aerosol sprays, solvents, or abrasives that might damage the finish. Cleaning the Mac screen To clean your Mac screen, first shut down your Mac and unplug the power adapter. Then use a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with just water and wipe the screen. Do not spray liquid directly on the screen.
