Cleaning out Macbook Pro HDD (NOT FORMATTING)

I have a month old Macbook Pro 17" with the 256 SSD hard drive. And I am looking to clear some space on it, Finder tells me that I have only 50gb free and my applications seem to take up also only about 50gb of space. What could be taking up the rest? I only have a couple of games installed and the only large Applications are Ableton and the Adobe programs.

How do I find out what else is taking up the rest of the HDD?

Install and use something like GrandPerspective- it's a graphical representation of what your hard drive looks like.

I downloaded that program and found that parallels did not uninstall properly and I still had about 30gb left from my Windows 7.
