Cleaning the Home Button on iPhone 5?

For a while I've had one of those stickers on my home button that causes it to be raised. I decided to take it off today and noticed it left a sticky residue on the home button (kind of like when you peel a sticker off something). I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on how to clean it without damaging my phone. Thanks so much!

Soak a qtip with WD40, not too wet, you don't want anything to get under, let it soak for 1 min, then rub. Repeat until all residue gone. Finish with a clean t-shirt.

Then wipe with alcohol.
