Hello,
i am purchasing a year old macbook pro from my employer
i want to completely erase everything and restart as if this is a new virgin machine
looking for some guidance on how to do that

thanks
randy

1) Shut off the Mac
2) Turn it back on
3) Immediately hold CMD + R after pressing the power button
4) Should boot into OS X/macOS Utilities
5) Open Disk Utility
6) Format Macintosh HD (the bottom of the two listed)
7) If it won't format or the disk is greyed out, right-click it, select Unlock, and enter the current user password
8) Ensure the disk is formatted as MacOS Extended (Journaled)
9) Close Disk Utility and select Reinstall OS X/Reinstall macOS
10) Sign in with Apple ID if prompted & it'll reinstall a fresh copy of the OS.
